How is Fire in Ice different from a traditional jeweler?

Fire & Ice sources gemstones for individual clients, not for inventory or mass resale.
Most jewelers select stones first and then find a buyer. We reverse that process — the stone is chosen because of the person it is for. We work directly at the source in Sri Lanka, selecting gems with intention.

Do you carry inventory or pre-selected stones?

No. Fire in Ice does not carry traditional inventory.

Each gem is selected either:

Specifically for a client, or
From a very limited number of stones currently at the source that have not yet been assigned.

Once a stone is selected, it is reserved exclusively and is never offered to another client.

If stones are client-specific, why do you sometimes have stones available?

While most stones are sourced after a client engagement begins, there are times when exceptional gems are identified at the source before a specific client brief is established.

These stones are available for selection for a brief period of time — but they are still treated with the same standards of certification, transparency, and exclusivity.

What does “Certified at the Source” mean?

Every Fire in Ice gem is independently certified across three levels:

Local Sri Lankan gem laboratory certification
International laboratory verification
Official Sri Lankan regulatory export documentation

This layered approach ensures authenticity, ethical sourcing, global credibility, and full traceability.

What certifications does each stone receive?

Each sapphire we sell receives:

A Sri Lankan gem lab report confirming natural origin, measurements, and treatment disclosure
An internationally recognized gemological report for global verification
Official export documentation required for legal and compliant export from Sri Lanka

Together, these form a complete certification file for the stone.

Do clients receive copies of all certification paperwork?

Yes — and not just at the end.

Clients receive documentation in real time as it is issued, throughout the sourcing, cutting, and export process.
Your certification file grows alongside your stone, from mine to finished gem.

Are your sapphires ethically sourced?

Yes. Fire in Ice works directly with trusted miners and gem professionals in Sri Lanka, a country known for its long-standing, low-impact, alluvial gem mining traditions.

Our sourcing approach prioritizes:

Responsible extraction
Fair relationships
Legal export compliance
Full documentation and transparency

Are your sapphires natural? Are they treated?

All Fire in Ice gemstones are natural.

Any treatment — including traditional heat treatment — is fully disclosed in certification documentation.
Unheated stones are identified as such when applicable.

Nothing is hidden, assumed, or omitted.

Can I request a specific type of stone or color?

Yes. Client-specific sourcing begins with understanding you — your preferences, priorities, and intention.

We can source based on:

Color range
Size and shape
Budget
Heated vs. unheated preference
Intended use (ring, heirloom piece, etc.)

The stone is selected to fit the person, not the other way around.

What happens once I select a stone?

Once selected:

The stone is reserved exclusively for you
Removed from consideration for all other clients
Documented and tracked through cutting and export
Never re-offered or duplicated

This is a one-to-one process.

Do you sell loose stones only, or finished jewelry as well?

Fire & Ice specializes in exceptional gemstones and can support both:

Loose stone acquisition, or
The creation of a finished, bespoke piece

The process always begins with the stone.

Can I begin without choosing a stone right away?

Absolutely.

Many clients begin by requesting a client-specific selection, allowing us to source stones based on their preferences rather than choosing from what is currently at the source.

Both paths honor the same standards and philosophy.

How do I get started?

You may either:

View stones currently at the source, or
Request a custom stone

Both options lead to a private, guided process — never a transaction.

What about payment and shipping?
We offer secure payment options to ensure a smooth transaction process. Once your order is confirmed, we will carefully package your gem(s) and arrange for swift shipping to your desired location. You will receive tracking information and secure hand-off.

Is my personal and payment information kept private?
At Fire In Ice, we prioritize the security of your personal information. Our website is equipped with secure ordering and payment options to provide you with peace of mind throughout your purchase. We never share information and make your privacy and trust a priority.

Are returns & refunds accepted?
