Chosen Together.
A shared journey, rooted in tradition.
At Fire in Ice, we believe the most extraordinary gemstones carry more than beauty — they carry history, humanity, and intention.
We are a small team of four, bound by blood, friendship, and a shared ancestry rooted in Sri Lanka’s centuries-old gem mining tradition. What connects us is not only where we come from, but a deep commitment to preserving the heritage, communities, and craftsmanship that have shaped the world’s most celebrated sapphires.

Our work begins in Sri Lanka, an island long revered as one of the world’s most storied sources of sapphires. For generations, gem mining there has been a respected craft — practiced by families who work the land by hand, guided by patience, knowledge, and pride. These are the communities we work with directly, face-to-face, at the source.

Every Fire in Ice gemstone is hand-mined, hand-selected, and chosen with care. We personally inspect stones as they emerge from the earth, selecting only those with exceptional natural beauty, integrity, and potential. No catalogs. No mass inventories. Just a deeply personal process grounded in trust and experience.
We represent our clients in this process as if we were choosing for ourselves. Each search is guided by an individual vision, and every stone is selected with that person in mind. Along the way, we share photos and videos from the mines — inviting our clients into the journey, so they can witness the discovery of their stone and feel connected to its story from the very beginning.

This approach supports responsible, small-scale mining practices that respect both people and place. Traditional hand mining minimizes environmental impact and allows for land restoration, while sustaining dignified livelihoods and protecting a way of life passed down through generations.

In a market increasingly shaped by mass production and laboratory manufacturing, we choose a different path.

Natural gemstones are finite by nature — formed over millions of years, never replicated, never rushed. When responsibly sourced, they offer enduring beauty, long-term value, and a legacy worth preserving. A Fire & Ice stone is meant to be worn, cherished, and one day passed down — carrying both rarity and meaning.

Integrity guides every decision we make. We believe ethics are not about removing people from the process, but about honoring them within it — from the miners who bring these stones to light, to the clients who will treasure them for a lifetime.

Fire in Ice exists for those who seek something truly meaningful and rare — not only in what they wear, but in how it is chosen.

From Our Hands to Yours.
At Fire in Ice, the experience is intentionally personal. From the moment you begin, you are paired with a dedicated member of our four-person team who guides you through every step of the journey. You won’t be passed between departments or handed off along the way. Your point of contact remains constant — someone who understands your vision, your stone, and the details that matter to you.

As your sapphire is sourced, selected, certified, cut, and prepared for export, we share regular updates, photos, and videos, allowing you to follow your stone’s journey from the source onward. Nothing is hidden, rushed, or abstracted.

The result is a process that feels informed, human, and intentional — because a stone chosen for you should never feel impersonal.
